Second Class Life......By:....Bishop

Sacrificial lamb,
on the alter of your success.
Beta to your original,
in the ultimate software test.
Best in show to your blue ribbon,
in the county fair of life.
Economy class airfare to your first class flight.

When you went to see the world,
I stayed here at home,
And answered your postcards,
I loved the one from Rome.
When you met that supermodel,
I envied you and your life,
It was that same year,
I married my loving wife.

All the parties that you talk of,
Sounds like you had fun.
It was tough building my business,
But I want to leave it for my son.
Loved the picture of your new Mercedes,
Makes my old Ford seem a little dull,
I’m putting my kids through college,
Or I would have sold it long ago.

I loved seeing you at my granddaughters wedding,
I am sorry you came alone,
I wish we could have spent more time,
But I understand you had to go,
Too bad about your fourth wife,
Lawyers can be so tough,
Just give me a call,
When things are getting rough.

I cried at your funeral, my friend.
But not because you were gone,
I cried to see that it was only me,
That came to say goodbye,
For I thought you had it all,
The money, good fortune and fame,
But now I see, you envied me,
And the life I thought was plain.

Sacrificial lamb,
on the alter of your success.
Beta to your original,
in the ultimate software test.
Best in show to your blue ribbon,
in the county fair of life.
Economy class airfare to your first class flight.
