"With a tingle of fear " by ~*Sage of Darkness*~ and >Vampyre Gerbil<

In a second's spread, your mood may be botched,
With a tingle of fear you feel like you're watched.
Nobody's around, it's the dead of the night,
And yet you feel as though something's not right.

Darkness fills the room all around
You look for light, but none can be found
Panic begins to take over your mind
Embedded with fear, it is entwined

There's a crack of thunder; the weather's gone foul,
Somewhere a wolf begins to howl.
You can't quite place just what is wrong,
Just what, exactly, doesn't belong.

You look around. Nothing is as it seems.
How can this be true? Is it just a dream?
This is not where you were at all.
Nothing you see is as you recall.

How can this be? It can't quite, but you may just find,
In a sense you are, but you're not really losing your mind.
You have to feel helpless, there's naught you can do,
And unfortunately, that line rings true.

Franticly searching for some place secure,
You're in pursuit of some form of cure.
You wish you were back where you belong
You long for a familiar voice singing a familiar song.

It's a shame it won't come to pass,
Fragile hopes are shattered like glass.
Sometimes everything is in vain--
The light at the end of the tunnel: a train.

You fear for life. Soon you'll be dead
Then you realize, it's all in your head.
You're in the middle of field
Everything is so surreal.

Is it real or not? Can you take anymore?
The winds of madness blow outside that door.
Maybe you should relax, just try-TRY-to smile,
And let somebody else in control for a while.

But were you ever in control?
Can you elude Fate's pull?
You don't even know this land you roam
But for now, you'll call this place home.
