ShaggyShoe..I donate once before when they first put up the donation button..but right now times are tough for some of us..age or not. Yes I am of age but I also have a mortgage and came into unexpected expenses that we just didn't need that basically wiped out our whole savings. If I had $5 I would give it but I'm hardly making my mortgage this month as it is. I feel bad enough that I can contribute anything at this time. I love this site and would love to help but its just not possible at this time. Sorry. *IP* |

I know that money is tough for lots of us. But think about this guys and gals, ,even YES you younger ones. How much do ya spend on a movie? Or maybe a pizza with the friends? The money doesnt have to be sent on line, they have a snail mail address too. Just think for all those that say, oh heck I dont have any money, dont THINK big bucks, ,think oh 3 bucks or five bucks, just fold it up stick it in an envelope with the usm addy and stick it in the mail. For soon your 3-5 bucks, * that heck you would have blown on a pizza, a burger, games at the mall, *** could add up with all those others that cant afford only two three bucks. ITS not the SIZE of the money you send, its the thought that counts as I've seen the help that this great people here at usm have done. Heck if its even ONLY a dollar. Think about it there are LOTS of we usmers, and a dollar by LOTS can mean more to help people with. George, I have to head out to utah tomorrow for a couple of days, as soon as I get back, my donation will be taken care of. Thanks for the post and letting us know.  |

I for one don't have Taco Bell, or five dollars a month for that matter. I don't even have a phone because we can't pay the bills. I am unemployed. My mother just got laid off. We had a fire back in 2001, and we had nobody giving us money to help us out. We weren't financially well even before then. Since then, life has been very hard. As I already said, we already lost the phone because of our lack of money. It's not that I'm being selfish or anything, but I really do have no money to spare. I'm in the red as it is. |

Living in a town that has just closed two more major employment places and that has such a high rate of unemployment that it made the cover of USA Today I understand that people really do not have the extra money to spend, but if you do have just 1 dollar and everyone sends that 1 dollar in then think of the help you would do. You know what I find most irritating? The people who accuse those of us who really can't afford to send money in of being lazy and selfish. Sorry, I never have cash. I depend on my mom for it. I went through the school year not even having all my books and right now I barely can afford to pay my electric bill or get food. And as for the internet, that is part of the FREE technology provided by the school in off campus apartments. Gee...do I satisfy YOUR requirements for being a broke college student who never eats out? See if I care...but IF I had money, I would consider sending some. Unfortunately, I need water and electric first.  |
