Bucs fan's ashes spread on 50-yard-line....Flame-On

(1/27/03 - Tampa) — One Tampa Bay fan has a permanent place on the 50-yard line.

Merrick Steinman was a Buccaneers fan from the earliest days. He even moved to Tampa, Florida, in 1979 largely because of his love for the Bucs.

So when he died, his wife knew Raymond James Stadium was the only appropriate place to sprinkle his ashes. Last summer, Cindy Steinman spread some of his ashes at the 50-yard-line.

She says her husband's spirit must be enjoying the Buccaneers first-ever Super Bowl victory, with their 48-to-21 win over the Oakland Raiders.
