I can understand how you feel, I have struggled with my weight all my life. Weight control is a never ending battle and commitment. I would suggest, going to your family doctor (use a check-up as an excuse) and ask your doctor about a diet, maybe he can refer you to a dietician. You are only 13, you are still growing, dieting at your age can be bad if done wrong. Talk to your doctor and see what he says, that is very important, don't do it on your own, seek advice from a trained professional. I wouldn't stress too much about (I know that is easy for me to say) but the important thing at the party is to have fun, enjoy yourself. Regardless of how you feel in the bathing suit, wear it like you are a model. Flamboyance and selfconfidence is the best. Guys will pick up on this. I feel that you should never lose more than a pound and a 1/2 a week, so be careful. Starting now to eat right is great, you can trim down properly while growing into the rest. DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF. That almost landed me in the hospital, I was really sick. When you starve yourself you will only lose muscle mass, not fat. Also if you starve yourself you can get bone disorders early. There was a girl who starved herself all the time, she was 15 and she fell while running and BROKE HER HIP, she had to have hip replacement therapy. Starving yourself only makes you bigger. When you starve yourself, your body goes into survival mode, so when you do eat it will store every ounce of fat, because it thinks you need it to survive. This is what I do when I diet...I eat my biggest meal in the morning and little bit smaller of a meal during lunch and then a small dinner. The reason for this, is that most people when they eat dinner they spend the rest of their night watching TV or doing schoolwork and don't have much physical activity after dinner, during the day you have more of a chance of burning it off because you are at school or doing chores. Make sure that when you are feeling hungry you eat or snack, but stop eating when you no longer feel the hunger, don't eat until you are "stuffed", just eat until you are satisfied... Dont worry, I wont say your fine how you are ...LoL because Im 5'4 and weigh 124.
