Respect

In defense of love...

I say that you don't have to love everyone here. You don't have to love God, or His ways. You don't have to love the owners, the admins, the powers that be. You don't have to love at all.

But...

Who says that respecting others should be thrown away also? With the free will that you have, you have the choice to love. You also have the choice to respect. While you may have a problem with love, I don't understand the problem with respect.

Respect is what we're taught from infancy. Respect is a foundation that is crumbling here because no one respects others. I'm not talking about respect as in respecting another who bashes you, in case you're wondering.

Simply respect the solution that there is no solution. There is no magic wand to wave to make everyone friends, or everyone peaceful with one another. Respect that if you are you, and over there is another, respect that that person is who they are.

Respect that if another person believes in the tooth fairy, that person has the right to believe as they do without calling them childish or stupid. Respect another person's right to be who they are. If you don't like that, just don't read it. It's as simple as that.

Mentioning names here is forbidden in my view, so I'll say this. I respect everyone here, I respect their right to do whatever they wish. I may not love them, like them, etc, but I can, by all that's Holy, Respect their right to be who they are. So can you.

I may not love you, but I respect your choice to be who you are.

Date: 1/11/2003 10:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 31255    Respect is a good thing to have. Its nice when people can at least have this for each other but that doesn't always happen in the real world so I'm sure its not always gonna happen here unfortunately. But good post and reminder Monkey!

Date: 1/11/2003 10:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 45619    i totally agree with you, but sometimes that seems like a hopeless cause. there will never be respect among all people towards all people. it just can't happen because we are human.
