Contact Lense Trouble! They Won't Go In!...Freaq

I just got contacts today and now that I've taken them out...I CAN'T GET THEM BACK IN! I dropped one and almost lost it and I think it got too dry and I may have torn it up because my brother stepped on it! I have a couple of questions...

1) How can I make them go in without hurting myself.

2.) One of them looks a little torn....is it safe to wear it or will it cut or damage my eye ball?

Date: 1/3/2003 1:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 26452    I wear contacts, and I was told that you should NEVER EVER wear a ripped or scrattched lense.
Date: 1/3/2003 1:19:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 6817    What would it do to my eye?
Date: 1/3/2003 1:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 27046    If it is torn or ripped it will cut and damage your eyeball. You will feel like there is something in your eye and it will be one of those times when you really get to rubbing it and when you do that it can scratch your eye. Always wash your hands. That should prevent stinging. When I get a new box I have to take them out of the foil tin they come in and rinse them with my own solution because for some reason the stuff they are packed in burns my eyes like crazy. It burns my aunt's eyes too. I generally place the contact on the tip of my right pointer finger. With left hand I pull up on my eye lid and I pull the bottom of eye down with right middle finger, I look up and put the contact in. While still holding it I roll my eye down and look straight ahead at my finger and slowly take it away. If the contact is stuck to my finger I just apply a little more pressure to kinda get it to stick. If you don't have it positioned and you blink it will pop out. Until you get the hang of putting them in you should sit down somewhere, like the kitchen table with a paper towel down in front of you so that if you drop it, it will fall on the paper towel. If you have to try repeatedly you should rinse it off in between. Once you get an eye infection you are susceptible to getting them repeatedly and because there is a such a risk with infection and loss of eye sight it is highly unlikely that after being treated for an infection that a doctor will prescribe them again..

Date: 1/3/2003 1:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 26452    You may need to use a different solution also, some of the different ones I cant even feel, while others burn my eyes sooooo bad. Renu burns my eyes really bad..
