I'm getting married in June. I'm having a celtic medieval wedding. I cannot think of what to have as table ornaments. I'm working on a budget. I have thought of a dozen things and then I go naaaa lol. Does anyone here on usm have any suggestions maybe? It would be very helpful :).

Date: 1/1/2003 6:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    that seems to be a very common theme now a days... you could have nothing(what is sort of the traditional way they never did back then) or you could do floating candles in a glass container they look quite smart same with gel candles..

Date: 1/1/2003 6:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    usually what each person takes home is the little "keepsake" gift what you usually have your name and date you were married on it... the center peices usually don't get taken home unless they were flowers and people take those just becuae they can... i have been to a wedding where they put fish on the tables

Date: 1/1/2003 11:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 57653    I did a few searches looking for some ideas for you. I was kind of confused though. Are you looking for the centerpiece for each table or favors to give away?? If you are looking for favor ideas I saw these ones on a site

"Parchment scrolls printed with a favorite poem and tied with velvet ribbon
Miniature wreaths of dried flowers and herbs
Quill pens with a clever note attached
Velvet pouches filled with potpourri
Small flasks of mead or fruit wine
Tickets to a local Ren. faire (you might get a group rate)" The site was http://www.drizzle.com/~celyn/mrwp/faq5.html
...they seem like some good ideas... ~SilverFire

I dont have anyone helping me plan so I tend to go blank on some things and need to know what I need to plan a weddong. Thank you everyone. You have been helpful.
Date: 1/2/2003 5:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    a great thing to do with the "parting gifts" instead of putting one on every plate and having dozens left over put them on a table by the door.. get someone to set them up abotu half way through the wedding(after everyone has eaten and as it gets later in the eve) that way people will remember to grab one before they leave and they arn't left all over on the tables(and you don't need to buy soo many.. i find only about half of them go and the rest are left scattered everywhere)
