Fast Food Resturants....Why's and What's... A Rant-n-Rave about it from SmoknJoe

Round 1...McDonalds 12/31/02

Earlier tonight I decided to be brave and to babysit some children for some friends. I carried the little heathern's to a McDonalds for some quick snacks and such. Here goes the stupidity part.

On a order of a 20 pc McNugget you only get two packets of sauce. But on the 10 pc you get four packets of sauce. Also you are billed for each extra packet of sauce that you need in excess of ten cents per pack. This includes honey packets as well. And I saw that they were located outside on the coffee condiment bar.

Also on the fries there was no Ketchup offered or even put in the bags for these little rugrats. I also had informed the girl who took the order that we would be dining in and she still put everything in a to-go order. Have you ever tried to seperate 8 orders of fries??? Equally so each curtain climber wont get mad and say you gave him or her more than the other. And no there was no Ketchup dispenser on the coffee condiment bar. Just honey, stirrers, salt, sugar, sweet-n-low, creamer (not iced down).

Hey I am frustrated and yes I complained to the manager but was told that the Ketchup and the sauces were in the guidelines set forth for that particular chain. That you have to request condiments while you are ordering or before you leave with your order.

Round 2... Waffle House 12/31/02

I went flounder-gigging the afternoon of 12/30/02 and came home in the wee hours of 12/31/02. I had two rugrats in tow with thier father. We had just gigged 140 keeper size flounder and had left and was in transit to home. We stopped at a Waffle House (never agian there) for some Breakfast.

Well in a nutshell we got stuff that we definatley did not order such as raison bread, grits (concrete style), eggs over easy (almost raw the whites werent even done), my steak charred, hashbrowns dryed, toast overbuttered and soggy with only one packet of jelly per plate, sour tea (tasted like dishwater), and that is just the tip of that grand adventure.

We complained BIGTIME and they redone our food again and screwed it up worser than before. We wound up leaving and not paying or even eating anything. We had sat there for and hour and a half.

I could ramble on and on but I think I will never babysit, offer to babysit or even stop at another fast food place with anyone again. <<<New Years Resolution.... And that waffle house in Wilmington is definately off my list. But on the good side we got lost in Wilmington and spotted a Hot-N-Now sign..... Yummy.

Have you ever had an adventure as bad as this. I hope not but I needed to get that off my chest. I also think Beenie Weenies and Vienna Sausages with crackers would be the best way to eat on the road. No confusion and the same style mess. Better yet a gas stove and frying pan to cook my fresh catch...hmmmm that sounds really good!!
