Last Night of the Year.........................~SpaceCase

I sit here in reflection
Of this past year's collection
Memories, both good and bad
Feelings, both joyous and sad

I look at what's ahead of me
New pages in my book, unseen
I hope for the best, plan for the worst
Just in case hell's fire should burst

This year full of false witnesses
Failed and corrupt businesses
The powers became more powerful
The troubles, they seemed more bountiful

A prayer of hope for a peaceful year
I pray Lord that you will lend an ear
Listen to each of our desires
WIthin us rekindle your burning fires

So upon this last night
For everything I didn't do right
Forgive such a perilous fool
For bending Your mighty rule

And bring forth a better tomorrow
Replace love with our present sorrow
Bring forth a better year
One in which we'll have less fear
