Great poem Larry! I have changed jobs rather than put up with negative people like that. I don't try to change or "uplift" people like that anymore, just avoid them. Two faced backbiters live in their own world, not mine.  |

Some will "feed" from it and become more aggressive or depressed, I have had some nurses who are so bitter and disillusioned tell me how much their job causes anxiety, depression, and lots of anger, under the surface. Happens to others in other occupations too. I hear it all the time. Some will take it out on their families, co-workers, and some come online and release their pent up hate. I'm just a nurse, not a psychologist, but reading people gets easier after years of listening and dealing with people. Being observant and listening are what we are taught and it pays off sometimes, at least for me. I tend to avoid stressful situations and people who create them. In my experience over the years, people like this usually need medication, drugs or alcohol to survive and that is just my own personal observation. |
