i thought he was very intelligent. You can't call him not great at all though because "predicting" wasnt all he did, he was also a philosopher and some of the stuff im sure you could never come close to sayng or doing. ![]() |

Well any guy can make a bunch of predictions and eventually one will come true. I believe this to be partly true to Nostradamus. but still it is interesting to see WHAT his predictions were. ![]() |

Excuse me, Do you know why they call him great? Because He has made the most accurate predictions. If you discredit him You must then discredit every single prophet. The truth is IF there are people will the ability to predict the future,Nostradamus would be the most eligible. ![]() |
Date: 12/18/2002 4:20:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 60940 No way. His predictions are so vague they mean nothing. Obviosly there was continual pressure for him to be correct. Even the Queen ( i don't remember which) employed him. for exmaple, i could predict that there will be a terrible war, and sadly it may come true. I can also predict that the sun will stop shining in about 2.5 billion years. |

We can't really be sure about that 3% can we. If his quatrains haven't been properly deciphered, then how can we know what he really predicted. Some say he used a little known way of speaking call the 'green language'. The form was used by alchemist and doctor's of his day. I think people are trying to decipher his work now using that method. ![]() |

you could never even dream of doing the great things that he has done for humanity as we know it. even if he made one accurate predection, thats quite alot to say, considering most people dont have the ability to do that at all. i just think you are talking alot of junk about something you dont know anything aobut. +shady lady+ ![]() |
Date: 12/18/2002 6:27:00 PM From Authorid: 56371 That's just ridiculous.He was a brilliant man.A great prophet.Why don't you STUDY Nostradomus for a while,and THEN come post about him,because it's obvious you don't know WHAT your talking about.Goo. |

Date: 12/18/2002 10:34:00 PM From Authorid: 61969 The reason he wrote in Codes and different languages is so he wouldnt get killed for being a Witch |

Date: 12/28/2002 4:48:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 60940 that was one billion. you're missing the point, as a percentage, only three percent of his predictions came true. |
Date: 12/28/2002 4:55:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 60940 Check out Pierre Brind'Amour's study from the University of Ottawa."Nostradamus Astraphile". O yes, I was wrong about the3%. Of all the predictions that were to happen i nhis century, only5.73% came true. The book in question is "Nostradmus in the 21st Century" by Peter Lemesurier. They were published in a book called " Recueil des Presages prosaiques de Michel De Nostradamus (there were in all, 6338 predictions). And also, theres no reason for people to get so angry. Its just a forum. |

oops.. sorry then.. it looks like one millon to me.. it still does though.."He predicted a lot of stupid stuff, like china attacking with a 1 million man army" there.. it does say one million.. oh well..ok one billion is kinda extreme but still if his stuff were lost cause of the ryhming who kn0ws if they came true? ![]() |
Date: 12/29/2002 8:22:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 60940 Yes, i believe nostradamus did have real powers, but peoplejust don't realise that so many of his predictions didn't happen. We tend to concentrate on what hppens, and ignore the rest. |
