Perhaps you have sciatica which is a pinched nerve. You probably need to see a neurologist. I know you are upset because you can't afford Christmas, but Christmas isn't about money but about love. Perhaps you could ,make some pinecone toys? A doll , a car, and other things can be made out of pinecones. The library has alot of craft books to give you ideas. There is also paper mache and many things can be made out of that. Best wishes. |

Oh boy, been there. I hurt my neck and it took forever for them to decide that there really was something wrong. Yes a neurologist will be your best bet. They will be able to show what the doctors can't see. And pain does bring depression. You feel so helpless and so tired. Everything is out of your control. Christmas just compounds it. You want to do, but just can't physically or financially. But as Penny said, Christmas is love. Try to explain to the kids that the money wasn't there to buy, so just promise yourself (when you are feeling better), maybe give them coupons for what you would have liked to give them or special little times together. Kids are more understanding and durable than we give them credit for. Just be truthful with them. Hang in there hun. (By the way, you may want to consider malpractice against that doctor.) |

First of all, I am sure your kids will understand. Just explain to them that you didn't have the money, but as soon as you do have money again, you will make up for christmas. As for the doctor, it is your legal right to have a copy of your medical records and if he won't give them to you, hire an attorney. Find an attorney that does free consultations and see what he says. You might be able to sue the doctor for not releasing your records, if not, if you find out that something is seriously wrong, you can sue him for malepractice (sp?). Good luck! |

Well, maybe you should get a different doctor than, because he sounds quite moronic. I don't think people will yell at you or be mad at you because you can't AFFORD to buy presents, it's not like you're too lazy to buy them. I hope you get better. :-) PWTC aka GG |

I did go and see another Dr. He is sending me for an MRI this Saturday. Hopefully it will show him what I have been telling him all along. |

I hate to say this but it takes longer to get social security benefits from a physical disability but if you claim a mental illness, they seem to process you on through. Isn't that moronic? |

Penny I know what you are saying, a guy I used to know filed for disability and got turned down, so he acted like he was crazy and got it |
