Really Bad Christmas Presents>>>Shadowghost

When I was 15 and my brother was 17, we received Christmas presents from my slightly disturbed, but well intentioned grandmother. The first present was a crocheted UFO made from yarn & an old Miracle Whip container with crocheted finger-puppet aliens (for all ten fingers) packed snugly inside.

The second present was a pink and blue set of 'zip-up slippy-foot' pajamas that actually fit our sturdy teenage frames. We know they fit, because we were forced to pose for several memorable pictures standing side-by-side in our 'zip-up slippy-foot' pajamas while ten annoying aliens dangled from our fingers.

The aliens were bad enough but the pajamas truly disturbed me. I'm not sure what's more disturbing: The fact that my grandmother bought her teenage grandsons 'zip-up slippy-foot' pajamas, or the fact that some company, somewhere makes 'zip-up slippy-foot' pajamas for teenagers.

This didn't really happen to me, but I found some stories about the worst Christmas presents ever and had to share this one! LOL

Date: 12/14/2002 5:47:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 12341    I remember once during a gift exchange at school, one girl got one of those red scarves like John Wayne used to wear in the movies. She was mortified! The kid tried to show her how she should wear it around her neck. LOL
Date: 12/14/2002 5:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 25390    LMAO!! The way you describe it, I keep picturing you walking down the street with a big lighthouse on top of your head.
Date: 12/14/2002 5:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    lmbo!
Date: 12/14/2002 5:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 40319    The worst thing I ever got was a Barney blanket from my grandmother. It wouldn't have been so bad except for the fact that I was thirteen at the time! My cousins still make fun of me for it.

Date: 12/14/2002 5:56:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 12341    Another really horrible present my Mom gave me was pull on rubber boots when I was about 14 or 15, they were brown with fake fur. Yikes, I purposely let the dog chew them up. They were so ugly. She gave me a Hi Ho Cherry O game when I was about 12. My Mom wrote the book on bad Christmas presents.
Date: 12/14/2002 5:58:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 12341    Poor Lady Luck! Sis, you will be forever know for that hat now. Your own trade mark! LOL, its better than my barney shirt of brown, pull on boots with the fake fur! LMBO!

Date: 12/14/2002 9:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 54570    Hey I had the same experiance but now if I could I would love to just have one of those things that my grandmother knitted. Something to remind me of her. But my brother however (he's still alive unfortunately) gave me some movies that he recorded straight off the satellite that he figured I didnt have in my extensive video collection. Unfortunatley I wouldnt have wanted them in my collection at all but I do have the tapes on the shelves just in case he decides to look to see if I still got them.
Date: 12/14/2002 9:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 61901    Well, that was quite funny.LOL How would one go about finding those things for teenagers anyway. I bet it was really funny as she would ask the store if they carried such an item. Great Post! RangerX
