Man I'm gettin sick of this. Denial of Service attacks on MIRC, my favorite chat client, is getting swarmed with people who only wants to completely tie up the bandwidth and addressess of MIRC. Noone can get in! There's no way to track it, it's just there. If you're not familiar with either MIRC(go to www.mirc.com) or DoS attacks(www.dal.net) check out those two web sites, if you're a genius on networks maybe you can provide some input on how to shut these people down!!!

Date: 12/10/2002 7:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 49819    try getting network blackice it prevents anyone from trying to hack anything on any site or just your plain old comp it also works for networks i deal wit this all the time with my webpage people are always trying to hack my site so i send there hack segnal back to them and it hacks there comp for me i dont do a thing. I hope I was of any help for you. The Computer Genus
Date: 12/10/2002 7:54:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 31997    Well that would be great for me (I have Zone Alarm Pro), but can BlackIce work on a server? Dobutfully.
Date: 12/10/2002 7:58:00 AM  From Authorid: 49819    it works on all servers i have tried it and i know it works
Date: 12/10/2002 7:59:00 AM  From Authorid: 49819    change your ip address for the server so they cant access the site
Date: 12/10/2002 7:59:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 31997    Well they're not trying to hack anything, they're just flooding the server with log-on requests, and they can't be denied.
Date: 12/10/2002 8:01:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 31997    That could work however there's a lot of people who would have to change to access the new ip, and the people who are doing this would find the new ip.
Date: 12/10/2002 8:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 49819    the only way they can find this out is if they hack into your comp to get it that is where blackice comes in handy
Date: 12/10/2002 8:10:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 31997    Well I'm sure that there are other ways...how would you deliver a message to half a million people without it falling into the hands of one single person(whom, by the way you don't even know) that could destroy all that good work you just did.
Date: 12/10/2002 10:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 31765    yeah Dalnet has been bad. I can get on /server acool-e.ga.us.dal.net (6666) . It's working for now but who knows for how long. Good luck getting on and staying on.
Date: 12/10/2002 10:46:00 AM  From Authorid: 31765    And no, the hacking that is causing the servers to go down isn't hitting our PC's....it's hitting the skeleton of Dalnet, the network of servers.
Date: 12/10/2002 12:51:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 31997    Hey maybe I'll try to get on that server.
Date: 12/10/2002 7:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 49819    As of right now the server is up on dal.net
Date: 12/11/2002 3:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 31765    I just heard that Dal lost a hub. Packet kiddies. Anyway, most of the servers are working again now.
Date: 12/11/2002 3:22:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 31997    Yeah I was on Dalnet earlier today and I found out that until these attacks are done most channels are mirroring their channels on EFNet. So you might have to go to another server to get what you want.
Date: 12/12/2002 9:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 31765    heh....I went to another net, but an adult one. Efnet is getting hit too, and about as reliable as Dal. Quakenet is big, but I don't like their setup...so as long as Dal keeps running, I'm there.
Date: 12/13/2002 7:55:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 31997    PREACH ON!!!!
