the muse and the rockstar chapter 11

(Peter has been pacing back and forth all night in anticipation, when suddenly a knock upon his door startles him. Peter rushes down the stares almost falling swings the door open to see Rick standing there.)

Rick: Figured you'd need a ride to the Airport

Peter: Was gonna take a cab

Rick: Figured that much, that's why i decided to come, give you a little style and class

(Rick looks over his shoulder diverting Peter's attention to a strech limo behind him)

Peter: why so interested all of a sudden?

Rick: Call i curiosity, I wana see what a girl worth a 6 million dollar donation to a Pediatric Departmet looks like.

Peter: So what you're saying is there's no stopping you?

Rick: no stopping

Peter: Well Lets get going before we're late

Rick: The plane dosen't get here for another hour and a half

Peter: i know but sunday traffic is hell

(rick laughes before nodding with approval.

(The two enter the vehical, 5 dozen multi-colored roses sit on one of the seats. Peter looks at them then rick and begins to shake his head again.)

(the two sit in silence until)

Peter: Rick

Rick: Ya?

Peter: you gotta promise me something

Rick: And what's that?

Peter: You can't mention the band

Rick: you mean she dosen't know? I don't understand you. Why are you ashamed about the lives you've touched?

Peter: Rick, It's like... When I write... I don't write for it to be listened to, I... I don't write to console anyone, I wirte... the words that have been eating away at me for years, the words that made me mute for two years, affraid if one single word ever got out i would lose the illusion forever.

Rick: but the illusion is reality now

Peter: what this? This isn't what i wanted

Rick: then what, what is it you can't get by living that you can from hiding?

Peter: You wouldn't understand

(the two sit in silence the rest of the way)
