One evening, a young woman came home from a date, rather sad. She told her mother, "Anthony proposed to me an hour ago." "Then why are you so sad?" her mother asked. "Because he also told me he is an atheist. Mom, he doesn't even believe there's a Devil." Her mother replied, "Marry him anyway. Between the two of us, we'll show him just how wrong he is."

One day when he was a little boy living in New York, he was out walking with his grandfather when he saw two dogs enjoying themselves in the street. Puzzled, he asked his grandfather what they were doing. With a slight pause, the old man, summoning up the five-thousand years of great wisdom bestowed unto to him by the prophets and his forefathers, replied, "De liddle dog is sick, and de big dog is pushing him to Mt.Sinai Hospital."

One evening, Aspazia drew her husband, Myrddin's attention to the couple next door and said, "Do you see that couple? How loving they are? He kisses her every time they meet. Why don't you do that? She asked. Myrddin replies " I tried once but she slapped me."

One evening, I was driving my eight-year-old daughter to her grandparents' home for an overnight stay. It was late, there was very little traffic, and we were enjoying a peaceful ride. It was a far cry from the usual chaos surrounding us when I drive her to various activities during rush hour. My daughter seemed deep in thought, when she said, "I have a question." "What do you want to know?" I responded. "Mom, when you're driving," she asked, "are YOU ever the idiot?"

When I have no one to turn to And I am feeling kind of low, When there is no one to talk to And nowhere I want to go, I search deep within myself It is the love inside my heart That lets me know my Angels are there Even though we are miles apart.

A smile then appears upon my face And the sun begins to shine. I hear a voice, so soft and sweet Saying, 'Everything will be just fine' It may seem that I am alone But I am never by myself at all. Whenever I need my Angels near All I have to do is call.

An Angel's love is always true On that you can depend. They will always stand behind you And will always be your friend. Through darkest hours and brightest days Our Angels see us through. You are one of my Angels. Perhaps I am one for you.

Working as a computer instructor for an adult-education program at a community college, I am keenly aware of the gap in computer knowledge between my younger and older students. My observations were confirmed the day a new student walked into our library area and glanced at the encyclopedia volumes stacked on a bookshelf. "What are all these books?" he asked. Somewhat surprised, I replied that they were encyclopedias. "Really?" he said. "Someone printed out the whole thing?!?"

39 AND HOLDING

A young child asked a woman how old she was.

She answered, "39 and holding."

The child thought for a moment, then said, "And how old would you be if you let go?"
