Take this job and ... Do it Online

I wasn't sure where to post this.

We all know eBay is the place if you need an Enron coffee mug or a Jimmy Carter bobble head doll. But many people have found something even better on the nonstop sale site: a dream job.

At least 150,000 folks run businesses entirely on eBay, selling baseball cards, bed sheets, buble wrap, you name it. "They started with collectibles from their closets and then realized they could make a living," says Marsha Collier, author of Starting and eBay Business for Dummies, which has 50,000 copies in print (five currently for say on eBay).

Jeffery Stannard of Melrose, N.Y. was a casual eBay seller until he dabbled in custom rubber stamps. They became so popular that he took a day off work to fill orders. His boss objected, so stannard quit to sell stamps full time. "Whould I ever work for someone else again? No Way," he says "In fact, I may have to hire a staff."

Date: 11/25/2002 12:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 9930    I have actually thought of doing this. It would be nice to be able to stay home with my child and still have an income. Unfortunately I don't think there are too many people out there looking for Vinyl records. LOL
Date: 11/27/2002 11:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 49742    I was reading about this earlier in my email. Was thinking of trying it but wasn't sure how successful it would be but now that I read Carrie's reply about her uncle successfully doing it, I feel better about it.
