Ok 1st, what does aka mean, what does it stand for?

What does i.e. stand for?

What does URL stand for?

Who thought of bad words? Like those very bad 4 letter words, who invented those things anyway?

Why is the Atlantic warm and the Pacific cold?

Thats all I can think of for now. I've always wondered about these things! Thanks!

Date: 11/23/2002 10:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 23610    Also...it would depend on what part of the Atlantic you were in and what part of the Pacific you were in....the temperatures aren't all that different...but do depend on the area. As for the "bad words"....LOL...I'm sure there are lots of people who would like to claim they invented them....and there are probably new ones being invented every day. But....do you know the origin of the word "profanity"....it comes from profane....which is "pro" meaning - in front of......and "fanum" meaning temple. In the old Roman times it was considered sacriligious to say anything in front of the temple. Thus the word....profane....in front of the temple. Hee...hee....just a bit of trivia for ya.
