Hmmmm...I haven't been dishonest with anyone...but then again....noone that I really keep in touch with from this site has ever been dishonest with me. I don't think we have ever seen a reason to be dishonest. The people I know from this site have always been very open with me. I think alot of it has to do with the fact that we have deliberately looked for friends that we know have shown true integrity before jumping in with personal details about our lives or our problems. It's a waste of time and energy to be dishonest. Who needs that? |

Lady Nyx... are you saying that never ONCE in your entire career as a USMer you have not said a post was good and didn't even read but half of it because you were in a hurry or plain wasn't interested, but it was a reply to a friend??? Anything like that? |

I think there's a significant difference in the example you provided in the comment below *about leaving a good post comment* and being just flat out dishonest about everything and decieving so many..... |

Hi MonkeyLuvr. Woman...that is one hard question to answer. I don't like lying. Of course being a psuedo-aspiring wannabe writer, I reserve the right to make use of literary and poetic license. As for as honesty in comments. I admire anyone who throws a serious attempt at writing or poetry out into this forum. That takes guts. When I comment and say something is good..then that's just the way I feel about it. Honestly......(Since we're on the subject of honesty, I feel compelled to inform everyone that I have been repeatedly institutionalized for habitual lying...That may be the truth..I'm not sure)..(wink)..That was a heck of a good question for discussion, MonkeyLuvr. I'd have to say that I crawfished outta that one pretty well..lol...Thanks for the thought. Write on... |

I'm not perfect but I've never told a lie to anyone here, for what's that worth. I've got no real way of telling if anyones told me any lies, some things I've heard makes me think some have but I can't be sure, so I won't be sure |

Absolutely! Honesty is a subjective thing. I agree entirely. If we were honest we would all be enemies ... and friends, because only with complete honesty can you be who you really, truly are. |

If I were being everything I am outside of USM, my language would probably curl some people's hair better than perms. I swear way too much! LOL! But maybe there are quite a few honest people on here. I'm pretty honest, except for the fact that I don't talk like a drunken sailor on this website. That's not allowed here. |

i think there would be alot more trust and friendships if people were honest and trusting... how can you have a friend when you don't trust them.. how can you trust people when they lie? |

I tell the truth here on USM, but you do bring up an interesting point. Lets say someone just lied about every thing, no one in particular of course, and then they've been caught, so now they have to untangle them self out of their lie they said and also a lose of friendships. |

I can't think of any time that I have lied at USM. In my non-cyber life I sometimes will tell a minor white lie, if I think absolute truth would hurt. Sometimes I have been known to "lie like a lawyer"....or like Slick Willie when he lied about Monica Lewinsky (remember her)? This is where part of the truth is revealed, but somethings are left unsaid. I never lie in a way that would take advantage of someone...or be at their expense. |
