Date: 11/10/2002 12:16:00 PM From Authorid: 55967 I think this has been going on since the Roman Empire "became Christian" and still borrowed pagan traditions to fit into it. What characterizes Christianity is that it is a mobile religion that walks the earth in search of converts---has done it ever since Paul. People seem ready to accept the ideas of it (at least the main ideas) if they can still squeeze in their own little traditions and beliefs here and there. This seems pretty easy to do since the Bible can be interpreted in so many different ways. That's my view on it. Peace. ~GypsyHawk~ |
Date: 11/10/2002 3:28:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 Yep I'd rather use the name born again, than Christian as there is so much garbage now. I think I hate it most when someone says, WEll I"M Christian, and I dont beleive that the bible is the word of God. OR they say, HOW do you know what God wants or doesnt want. And these are the types of answers on gets from "Christians" On topic such as abortion, esp, playing with ouija boards, ect ect ect. I know this is going to sound harsh but sometimes I hate being called Christian and its a shame that I feel this way. Blood bought born again child of the living God!!! YES, thats me. |
Date: 11/10/2002 6:09:00 PM From Authorid: 43586 i got me own form of christianity, heh. but yea, born again is a better name, because i dont share the same views as many christians |
Date: 11/11/2002 7:53:00 AM From Authorid: 11240 To me, the use of the word Christian gets convoluted with the use of the words Christian Religion. I believe a Christian is a believer and follower of Christ. There is no religion attached to that definition. If a person wants to claim the title of Christian then I am not going to question that. But when a person states that they are both a Christian and Pagan, well, that is a contradiction in terms, and since Christ, to me, denotes TRUTH, then I do wonder. But the INTENT in any person's heart is not for me to judge, for that alone belongs to Our Father. God Bless. |

Yep Deb, God is our Judge of our hearts and our spirits.Jn:12:48: He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. But then he also said::1Tm:50: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. I agree with the what your saying about Pagan,::1Sm:153: For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, God tells us::Mt:64: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Amen! |
Date: 11/11/2002 2:09:00 PM From Authorid: 10146 Born Again Biblican I think best fit me Today. The Word Christian has been Destroyed. But the BIBLE shall remain forever! Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my Words shall never pass away. So says Jesus my Lord! |
Date: 11/12/2002 6:43:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 instead of people confessing to be a Christian, they should try ACTING like one in their everyday lives towards others...I'm a Christian but I dont have to be telling everyone that I am, I don't have to prove to anyone but God that I am one...hugs Zema |

Date: 11/15/2002 1:16:00 AM From Authorid: 34814 I have met alot of Christians in my life also. I have to admit I know only one who really follows her beliefs and doesn't act afool. I respect her very much. But alot of Christians I think it is a popular religion to say yeah I am a Christian. Cause I know alot who just say it and don't mean it. I am proud to be a Pagan!!! |
Date: 11/15/2002 7:18:00 AM From Authorid: 11211 Maybe sometimes it is best to live by example...instead of broadcasting "Christian"....humble...let your life be an example to others and most of the time, you don't even have to say a word....people seem to know by your actions and attitude that there is something different about you....and that is the best kind of testimony you can ever give....I hope this makes sence....Love!* |
Date: 11/15/2002 10:03:00 PM From Authorid: 55967 Love Kitten, just curious: what did you mean by "follows her beliefs but doesn't act a fool?" just curious. Peace. ~GypsyHawk~ |
Date: 11/18/2002 6:55:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 61901 I was always taught that we should live a Christ-like life. I know we cannot live without sin, but we as christians must strive toward perfection. God sent his Holy Spirit, to be our teacher, helper. RangerX |
Date: 12/9/2002 2:38:00 AM From Authorid: 24934 Despite of all who call themselves "christian" and are not. You and others above fail to realize it is God who gives the name christian to those that he has saved & added to his church. "Even unto them will I give in my house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off." (Is.56:5). "Yet if any many man suffers as a christian, let him not be ashamed: but let him glory God in this name." (1Pt.4:16). Christian carries the name of our Lord, and it will never be worn out, but cherised by those that are saved. To become a christian one must hear and belive the gospel, "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God." (Ro.10:17). One must repent of ones' sins, and confess Jesus is the Son of God, then, to be buried (immersed=baptized) under water to have their sins forgiven. When this is done, Jesus will keep his word and add one to his church. "The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." (Acts 116), "by the mouth of God" (Is.62). Not "Born again disciples." I am grateful & overjoyed that God calls me a christian. Though a person who has been born again in water, and has become a christian, the title "born again" is not authorized as is "christian".
