I'm not really sure what to think of Arvil Lavigne. I mean in some cases I like her (not for looks...God there's like 3 people in my Spanish class that look exactly like her without the punk look.) But otherwise I don't like to see people bagging on others, I mean do you even know her?...odds are nobody, I don't, but I mean she could be different off the fame, like she's just like any of us, she's just a misunderstood girl trying to live one of the great teenage dreams of the world. Here's what I think, i'm not extreme on any side. When she was in school, girls never excepted her, so when the guys did, don't you think she would act more like them? She gets mad at all these girls in pop music cus all the girls she used to know hated her. I don't dress punk or do anything extreme and a lot of girls at my school hate me for no reason. And who said in order to be a punk you had to be a punk rocker? Doen't punk have to do a lot about political views and opinions. And yes she can play the guitar. Maybe she can't play and sing at the same time, cus i can't. Sure she dresses like a punk, but who cares. At least she's not exposing her body. And what about pink or gwen stafani? I mean i like them, but no one disses them for dressing punk and singing pop music now do they? She sounds different on stage cause it's hard to sound the same singing when you're jumping around then if you can sit still and keep your breath in a recording studio. I think instead of bashing on her, you're just giving her more attention. We need to focus on real song writers, like michelle branch(i can admit she has a lot more talent then avril) Anyways i guesse she's not full blown punk and has poppier music, but isn't has horrible as people think she is. If i was her i wouldn't know what to say anymore cus everything she says or does gets blown up in her face. Ok I'm done now. I guesse i've heard so much i don't know what to believe anymore.  |

I dont deny her school troubles but ya know what? I've been made fun of at school (not for being punk or anything) but Im not gonna go hate on people i dont know! I cant play guitar at the same time either but I mean they shouldnt have her doing both if she cant! Not exposing her body eh? She dont have any clevage to show but she does like showing her butt crack a lot and her legs and tummy! Pink and Gwen are literal punk really. They technically by punk definition do it because they want to, which would make the punk, its not a marketing gimmick (i.e. they have proof theyve been that way longer then before they were signed!) Punk is being yourself, not being what you 'claim'. You are right on the stage part because she jumps around, thats the only time I know shes not lip syncing because you can hear the jumping. But when shes jumping and her voice aint changing (which Ive seen many a times on shows your supposed to sing live on) then you know shes lip syncing! Also she sucks when shes live or not! Studio magic is the only reason shes so popular if u know what i mean! Also I've been in recording studios and you stand so its not much different. I made this post a long time ago when the debate had come up, so i dont lavish on her but i do hate her, and i wont pay for anything of hers (let alone take it free!) Your right: Michelle Branch, Vanesa Carlton, Norah Jones, etc... their the real talent! She needs to treat people better is what she needs to do! I mean be 'punk' all you like but bashing an individual (she does, not their music) is just wrong! I have nothing against bashing Avril because she IS a bad indvidual and shes proud of it! |

I can agree with a lot of that, but she can sing(she is not nearly as good on stage)I was watching a live session on aol with her on her song Thing's I'll Never Say(last year in april before she was famous) and i was blown away by her voice.If you have kazaa you can download it.(it's a movie) It's not lip sinching from the CD cus it's just her and acoustic guitar and she changes the song around a little bit. I don't wanna come off sounding angry or anything, big apologies if i do. I can agree her music is pop, but she can sing. Ok I'm done now, really! LOL! |
