I feel like such a liar, but I had to do it! I went to the ER last night. It wasn't emergency, but it was the only way I could get better. It's because of my mother's insurance. The insurance will not pay for a doctor's visit where I go to college, but they will pay for ER w/ a $50 copay. I've already been to the crappy college health ctr. 3 times and I feel as I've bought out their stock of Amoxicillin, Augmentin, Phenergan w/ Codeine, antivert, and heck you name it and fill in the blank (here)!
On my third visit to the health ctr. they told me that I had bronchitis, sinusitus and upper respitory tract infection simulaneously. Take Augmentin and it'll go away....It didn't. I've been sick for a month now so I wanted to see a real doctor, not just one of those idiots at the health ctr. (it is called the "voodoo hut" around campus...) While there I felt like such an imposter, but they said that it happens quite a bit. Insurance is so wacky, and they said they see a lot of people my age come in w/ non-emergencies but try to have dr's visits.
Basically, I was told that I do NOT have bronchitis, but I do have the other two, and the reason I wasn't better yet is a real crappy reason. It's because the Avonex that I have to take once a week for the MS makes the amoxicillin and other drugs in that family not work as well because of increased interferon's or something like that. I hardly listened to the dr. b/c I was really upset that my little visit turned into a 4 hour tour and there was no Skipper or Gilligan around, I'm glad I had my Natalie Wood biography with me or else it would of sucked worse! He gave me a prescription and that was it.
My boyfriend and I are still carless, our neighbor friend Marcus dropped me off and took me there. When I came home I knew that my boyfriend had gone to WAlley world w/ Marcus so I was hoping that he'd at least got me flowers or something (I love my boyfriend but he really is just an only on your birthday, anniversary and valentine's type flower giving guy), but his annoying friends Bill and Richard were here in the apartment. And it never fails that whenever they are around is when I look and feel my worst and I do not like seeing them. Plus I've constantly BEGGED my boyfriend to please clean up after himself, the apt. is a real mess right now, and I am the one who ALWAYS has to clean up. So I felt like a slob. I came into the room that has the computer, and I haven't been here for about a week or so, and I read what has been going on with that terrible hoax. I can't believe that! I wanted to say something about it, but Richard wanted to come in and DL At the Drive In off of Kazaa. At the Drive In by the way is a music group. Well anyways I love USM, I feel like it's an interactive diary sometimes! I really do have MS, but I'm not dying or anything. It just sucks and that's it. For someone to pull that hoax thing off was just patheticy (I made up that word! The act of being pathetic) How it changed my life:I wish that the insurance would pay for dr.'s visits here and not just at my hometown (it's 3 1/2 to 4 hrs. away). I think that even though it is only a $50 copay, it would of been cheaper to go to a dr.
