Alice in Chains' Layne Staley & Nirvana's Kurt Cobain ...Cool Blizzard

Hi! I decided to make a little post of rememberance to two of the greatest, most influential, and coolest rock artists out there. Although both died for very bad reasons, they were wonderful artists who have provided many of us with hours of great music. Many artists out there agree... Godsmack got their name from a song by Alice in Chains off of their "Dirt" album... Anyway, I thought both Layne and Kurt deserved more than this, but it's the least I can do. =) If you haven't all ready, please discover just how great these bands are, then again, I love stuff from the Seattle Grunge era.. =)

Kurt D. Cobain 1967-1994

Layne T. Staley 1967-2002

R.I.P.

Date: 11/8/2002 10:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 24732    I love grunge rock, but they only have themselves to blame for their deaths. And I think Godsmack are copycats, they took the name from a song... and if you look at their little sun symbol it's the same one from old Alice in Chains t-shirts.

And Godsmack didn't necessarily "copy", they did that to honor them. I think it's cool how much they liked them. The sun logo and name didn't help them sell records, their music did, which doesn't sound like Alice in Chains at all.
