Obsessive compulsive disorder. She has compulsive thoughts that dont leave her little mind. I always tell her she gets stuck. Sometimes people have obsessive behaviors, like hand washing ,over and over and over again. |

Thanks Becky!! Im just so tickled about what the teachers had to say about her..I mean..for the past several years, NO teacher has ever said she was a joy to have in their classroom..she had been labelled a troublemaker very early on. Oh and did I tell you she was voted Class Rep, is on the Student Council, Yearbook committee, Cross Country Team, Badminton team??? |

Ok, I have heard of this ICUNurse..My daughter was borderline OCD..I didnt know what it meant though..I remember she was CONSTANTLY washing her hands..and she would sit and line all her food up on her plate..It drove ME batty..LOL..We later found out it was part of the ADD..Her little mind was always racing and they said it was kind of her way of calming herself down. |

i think when i was little i had OCD.. if i did something with one hand i had to do it with the other... if i tilted my head one way i had to tilt it the other and so forth.. i looked pretty strange... well maybe that wasn't OCD.. but it was compulsive |

Congrats to your daughter and you I have a son who has adhd and is on adderal. He got an A++ (seriously, that was on his report card), 3 A's a B+ and a B. He has his days, and still has a ways to go, but without meds, I KNOW he would be failing every class. Again Congrats!!!  |

Way to go! My son also is in the sixth grade and we too did the Ritalin thing and he went from bad grades to good grades. This year he is Not taking it due to stomach pains from it, but you know what? He really no longer needs it. His writing teacher (which was always his hardest class due to having to concentrate) said he was doing great and he got a "B". So I think maybe he is growing out of it. Your daughter and my son are perfect examples to show that Ritalin really does work for the children that need it.  |
