First off, I'm in 7th grade. The guy I like is in 8th, and we have the same math class (geometry) together. His name is Ryan, and he is the class clown/joker/funny-outbursts-while-the-teacher-is-teaching guy. Except, the teacher hears all of his outbursts. Anyway, we USED to sit next to each other in geometry, but now he sits in the last row, and I sit in the second. I don't see him at all besides then.
To the situation... there is a social coming up on the 16th of November, and I want to ask him to it. I'm just way too scared of rejection and all, you know? And then, even if I do get up the nerve to ask him out, I have James, a guy in ALL of my classes, who will certainly want to know why we were talking. I swear if he heard that I liked Ryan I would be the point of his ridicule for the rest of my life.
Then there are the rest of my friends. Kaitlin rides his bus, and thinks he's too stupid for me or something like that. I'm almost certain that if Troy found out, and he probably wouldn't even know who Ryan is, but he would tease me till the day I die. J might understand. Jenni would probably laugh at me, but then I could understand it. I laugh at her a lot.
Then there are also his friends, most of which are act like him without the funny outbursts in geometry. They would probably say things like, "she is so not your type", cause I'm a prep-turned-skater just this year, and he is a skater. I really doubt that his friends are going to encourage him to go out with me.
So I ask of you all, how should I ask him out? When should I ask him out?
And to the guys reading this, do you mind if you aren't the one to ask the girl out, and instead she asks you?
Thank all of you who read this, and I thank everyone who replies with any sort of help too!
