I don't generally post in this category because my dreams are usually pretty obscure, or very straight forward, and I get the message. The dream I had last night frightened me so much I woke up shaking looking for my children.
I know the events of 9-11 have affected us all greatly but I must admit it hasn't crossed my mind much lately so I can not just write this dream off as aprehension of that. This dream comes completely out of the blue and if I had to say what was on my mind before I fell asleep, I would have to say I was worrying about financial things.
Anyhow, heres the dream: My husband and I are at my mother-in-laws house, and the kids are opening presents, which I figure means it was Christmas or the day after. One of my daughters was lost at one point and when we finally found her in a closet, I was relieved and stepped out on the deck to have a cigarette.
My mother-in-law came out to talk to me and when she did I noticed the moon in the sky and pointed it out to her. It was dusk outside and the moon was moving across the sky rapidly like time had sped up and we were watching days go by in a matter of seconds. The moon went through its phases about three or four times, but to tell you the truth I'm not much of a lunar novice so I'm not sure if they were they daily phases or monthly phases. I don't know if it was 3 or 4 days we watched or 3 or 4 months.
We were overlooking a town that is about 40 miles away, "Canastota". Canastota can not be seen from my mother-in-law's house in reality but in my dream it could as sometimes happens in dreams. It didn't actually look like Canastota but somehow, in my dream I knew it was. Suddenly after the 3rd or 4th cycle of the moon there was a HUGE, massive explosion in Canastota. I'm talking mushroom clouds, flying debri, massive hot winds. We all screamed and I went in search of the kids so I could get the family home to my house (I guess because I feel safe there).
My husband went on ahead of us and I took my youngest daughter and ventured home. There were building falling everywhere. There was snow on the ground and Christmas lights hung, snow was falling mixed in with pieces of buildings. When I got to town everyone was standing in the "town square" holding hands singing "God Bless America" Everyone had lost there homes, but instead of despair, there was a feeling of well being, almost peaceful.
Then I woke up with the images still ingrained in my head. I can not get it out of my head at all today, which is odd because my dreams usually fade after about a half hour. I had to get this down just in case.
