Ihave seen the movie and read the book. the Movie is really good, but the book blows you away. its so strangly written, and the charecters in the movie are muvch different then those in the book. the book also deals with many more complex issues like the quility of life and what it means to be human, and to be alive. it gets very theological at times. the movie goes into none of these things. They are both, however, very good. if you want a good detective/action movie, i recommend blade runner. if you want a really weird makes-you-think book about life and death, i recommend the book. -the lost boy

Date: 10/31/2002 10:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 52489    Glad you liked it. However, there's a few things you should be aware of: 1) There are several different version of the film. There's the Theatrical Version, which has a voice-over narration by Harrison Ford. There's the Director's Cut, which doesn't have a narration. Then there's the European Director's Cut, which doesn't have narration, but has a ten-second scene of a unicorn running, as well as a few other scenes which were cut, but are too numerous to mention. 2) If you really enjoyed this film/book, you might want to see the short-lived TV series, Total Recall 2070, which incorporates Bladerunner and author Philip K. Dick's other creation, Total Recall (taken from his short story, "We Remember For You--Wholesale!". The TV show only lasted one season, but can still be seen sometimes. The Pilot episode is available on DVD. Very good show! --Arion1
