The party was just getting going, a lot of people were dancing and having fun when some of the people go the idea to go up stairs. There was a lull between songs and almost everyone was watching as the costumed party goers started up the stairs with their flashlights. All of a sudden we could hear screaming coming from the upstairs. The screaming got louder and we could hear people running. They were storming downstairs screaming BATS!!!! Then thousands of bats started flying everywhere. We all ran outside and covered our heads. There were thousands of bats. They just kept coming and coming from inside the house.
Eventually most of the bats had left the building. Most people wouldn’t go back inside the cabin. A few brave souls went back inside and carried the party stuff back outside for the rest of us. The party continued, but outside, and it didn’t last nearly as long as we thought it would.
We went back a few days later during the day. The bats lived in the attic and when the people went upstairs it must have spooked them. During the day, if you shined your flashlight up into the attic, you could see more bats than you could even imagine.
