Here in NC the cops are so worried about pot but they arent busting people for haveing other drugs like crack, for some reason there only getting rid of pot right now, and i think they should let ppl smoke pot if they want to, the goverment could make a lot of money off of it!! i dont smoke pot myself but i know ALOT of people that do!!! |

cigarettes are worse for someone then pot is, i think they should let people smoke pot if they want to and if you want to die from smoking cigarettes then just smoke away, its there choice |

pot kills alot faster than cigaretts and if it were legal it would only kill more people its like you see alot of people smoking cigaretts and there is alot just think you get higher off of pot than cigaretts there would only be more people smoking therefore more people dying so no i dont think pot should be legal but yah i would never smoke cigaretts either its all gross. ~*~Angel~*~ |

They shouldn't legalize it, but the penalty for getting caught with it should not be as high... |

I agree with Dizzy... Legalizing it, would inturn cause others to want other drugs legalized.. But Also what would be the statistics of people under the influence of pot and driving? I think that would kill at least half if not more than drunk driving. If people want to smoke it, thats their porogative (sp?)They are going to whether it is legal or not... Im not into it, never have been, so really I dont have much of an opinion about it. Other than the penalties against the drug itself is as high as a murderer's penalties, and in some cases a murderer would be released before someone caught with drugs.. That to me IS the SADDEST thing.. *Shakes head* |

I hate this so much. People trying to rationalize pot. Even though it doesn't have all those "chemicals" in it, it is still not good for you. Every single pothead I know is just lazy and waste's alot of money on pot. Any mind altering drug is bad. Legalizing pot will just lead to leglizing more drugs. |

I think thats crap. I am VERY against pot being legaliazed (I think Cigaretts should also be illegal) One of my friends smokes pot, its not "just pot" for one, he smells like pot (whicj ugh, reeks) hes so spazed out half the time he can't remember what we talked about 5 minutes ago, he can barely remember our conversation from the day before, his hands are always all shakey etc. He told me himself that he wish he never started smoking it...Not to mention I know MANY famlies whos lives have been ruined from someone in the family smoking pot, I think I read somewhere where that when you smoke pot repeadly (sp?) it makes some slime stuff over your brain, which slows down your reactions, the longer you smoke it, the longer it lasts. |

It's not as bad as cigarettes, but it's still bad for you nonetheless. And if we do legalize it, I think that the economy might just improve, because a lot of fools want it. |

This really is a touchy sort of subject for me. One part of me says, yes legalize it..the other, says no. Angel pointed out that pot kills more people than cigarettes...I for one have never heard of anyone dying from smoking pot. Cigarettes on the other hand, are killing people everyday. Legalizing it would definitly help out the economy...But I personally don't feel comfortable with the idea of people openly smoking pot in public..mainly because the smell of it makes me sick LOL. |

it's not laziness big tex it's being mellow - I'm not lazy..always active - i think some people are just lazy and if they smoke pot it will intensify it. and as to spending money on it, if you've got the money to spend on it then it's no big deal..if you go into debt or something over it then it isn't a good thing. |

I definitly agree with you Heather. My husband smokes pot..and he is FAR from lazy. He's quite the opposite. This is a man that works 10-12 hour shifts at work..7 days a week. It's just something he likes to do when he get's home to help him relax and relieve the stresses that his VERY stressful job gives him I know quite a few people that smoke it also...and they are very artistic people. Smoking pot seems to get there creative juices flowing. To each there own. I don't like pot, therefor I don't smoke it. But I'm not going to critisize other people for it |

I don't understand why some recreational drugs are legal (caffine, nicotine, alchol) while others are not. It seems to me, that by making them illegal all the government does is create a situation where the illegal drugs will be unregulated and overpriced. If you made them legal, it would dramatically lower the price and any glamor that is associated with the drug culture. I think that as a nation, we need fewer laws and more personal responsibility. The money saved by not having to police drug use could be spent on centers for getting people off of addicitve substances. |

unfortunately you cannot export the drug because it won't be legal everywhere.. i am fine with it being legal as long as it has specifics to it.. like alcohol.. it can only be boughten in specific places.. you cannot drive under the influence... and cannot be done in public places |

No Tex. That was rude, and unneccasary. its true. Theres a great artical in the newest time about pot, and the actual scintific study of it. it IS better for you then Cigs and alchol, with a much smaller rate of physical and mental dependancy then you get with the aformentioned pair. And, due to a certain brain stimulent which is released while smoking pot, many people DO work better while under a mild dosage. One glass of red wine a day is good for you. now they are starting to believe the same about a joint. please don't mock another, Tex, for stating facts. -the lost boy |

big tex do your research this guy my dad used to work with before the military had 100% true UA's would suck at working so my dad had a guy from his company go smoke him out and he worked better funny how that works out but smoking to much then you actually do mellow out to the point of laziness but big tex dont just go off what the surgeon general says cause its usually stuff to keep it out of your hands and to make the government look smart and doing something right |

ok, with me responding so late I don't know if anyone will read this or not, but I think it should be legal!!!! Pot has not killed one person yet, so I don't know what ~*~Angel~*~ is talking about or where she got her information. and when I used to smoke it, it did not make me spend one dime on it, I have always been lazy, even before I smoked it and I seem to drive a lot better, most peoples senses are enhanced, you hear better, see better it depends on the person. And the whole thing with killing brain cells....not true, they are temporality killed, but after a few hours they are back!!!! LEAGALIZE IT TODAY!!!!!!! "the axeman" |
