I'm not watching it but I know about California's three strikes and your out, if he didn't learn after the first two he probably would never learn. His actions sent him to jail for life, seems fair to me. |

He did not committ violent crimes that is what I dont get I mean I am not saying he should not do time but this is a misdemeanor. I think he should get maybe five years no more then that. |

Unless you commit a very serious crime like murder, you would most likely get life with parol meaning you can get out early for good behavior or if the state feels like you have been rehabilitated (sp). The law was set up because so meny were going in and out of jail and never learning from their punishment. I think they are hoping this law will deter crimials from continuing their lifestyles by scaring them with the possiblity of life in prison. |

I think only violent criminals (murderers, pedophiles...etc) should spend life in prison. |

well lets think for a minute... for every one strike, how many other crimes were on his record that he pled out? Seems that if more states implemented the three strikes rule and ENFORCED it, it just MIGHT be a deterrant to other criminals?? Maybe?? |

Don't get me wrong I totally agree with the three strikes law and I think they should do time for any crime committed but I mean let the punishment fit the crime. Don't take a person who steals a 20 dollar movie and treat him or her as a murderer or rapist. |

Sheesh!! That's kind of ridiculous...a waste. I agree with Dizzy on this. |

seems like a silly thing for a movie, but I would BET there were more than the previous two other "strikes" on the books for the guy... he probably had a LONG "rap" sheet, so maybe getting him for a simple movie, was the legal way to get someone off the streets that would potentially do other more serious crimes?? My guess.... |

i'm not watching but it sounds pretty lame. 3 strikes should only be for violent crime. |

I guess in Cali if you committ two crimes that are felonies then committ a similar one that is a misdemeanor then you can be sentenced to 25 to life. Like I said I think it just ridicoulous. I never really say this but I hope he gets his sentence lessned |

that was put in place for violent offenders. I find it hard to believe that they are doing this to that guy without just cause. Maybe his other robberies included ARMED robbery or robbery with assault. If that is the case then he is getting what he had coming to him |

No they were not armed robbery he has been convicted of robbery(no weapons) twice and marijauna possession I think of course I dont know the whole story I mean it was only on for about 10 minutes so of course I am sure there is more to it then what we saw but I think that if what they said is true he should get no more then five years |
