KILLJOY

The knife stabs deep
First breaking the skin,
Letting beads of creamy blood flow out-
Killjoy has done its job tonight.

The moon’s pulsating glow of wonder
How the night will turn out,
The stampede of thunder has lightened for once-
Creating hope for one’s desire.

You are my angel that takes me away from the rain
And pours in clean liquid of saturated grease,
Tensing the motions of the waves-
Falling against the wall-shaped sky.

One shot from the gun
I feel it deep in my heart,
Filled with pain and angst-
You take it all away.

The knife continues to stab in deep
Leaving behind scars on the surface and within,
It feels so good-
Killjoy has done its job tonight.

So take that blade away from me
And hold me tight,
In need of protection from myself-
I may just die tonight.

What this world has done to me
May be proven by my cuts,
Though the moon still stands tall at night-
Showing there will be a tomorrow.

Whether it be yours or mine
Or the world’s end,
Those two hands that will stay clamped-
Is what surely will make it through.
