Calling All Computer Nerds... LOL! **Frankenstein

As I've said many times before, I know very little about computers and now I find that I need help with something. I'm quite interested in getting a bit more creative than what just the written word will allow me to do. I won't quit writing, rather this would be something supplemental. My question is, do you know anything about Macromedia's Flash program? Is there a version that I can download for free? How do you add sound to something like that after it's finished? For that matter, how do you get sound into the computer at all period? I feel so helpless when it comes to these things and that's why I'm asking. Thanks in advance for whatever help you may be able to give me.

I think if you had that sort of technology I would have to take a portable toilet around with me because I would be wetting myself whenever I saw something of yours.
Date: 10/29/2002 7:14:00 PM  ( Admin-DNL )   I am computer illterate even though I spend hours a day on the computer LOL, good luck finding this out...
Date: 10/29/2002 7:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 49563    Flash is about a $500 program I doubt you can get a keepable version of it for free. You might be able to download a trial version for free but then after 30 days it wont work anymore unless you cough up the funds. As for sounds- after you create your image or annimation you import the sound into the program from a file on your computer. Getting a sound on your computer can be done many ways. You can download sound files or copy them from CD's or record your own. If you want to try to find a trial of Flash try download.com. Im not very good with Flash so I doubt I could give any good lessons. Good Luck. Kitts
Date: 10/29/2002 7:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 56927    Never had a go on the Flash program, but can say, you'd do well to check out the Macro media stripper program. Its much more decent, and safe, because its done behind closed doors. Unfortunately it costs a fair bit more... bob

Date: 10/29/2002 8:06:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47699    No, Sporti, this is the first time I've ever done this post. LOL @ Kurt! That's the best compliment I've had all day...I think.. That's okay, Danielle. It's good to know that I'm not alone here. Thanks for the info, Kitts and Bob.
Date: 10/29/2002 8:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 52155    Hey Frank. Here is a computer-tutor column that I just read the other day about an inexpensive flash program, that may answer some of your questions: http://www.youthspecialties.com/articles/puter/2002/september/intro.php Give it a look, and see if it helps you any. Gook luck (it all looks rather complicated to me)

Date: 10/30/2002 4:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 58308    Sorry, Frank. My puter came with all of that stuff. I know you need a sound card. If your puter came with one like mine... that's great. Sorry, I am NO help. Hugs! Zeeboette
