when you think of dracula you think of bram stoker's dracula, the blood-sucking vampire. well there really was a guy named dracula and there was a place called transylvania...it is located in romania. any way vlade dracula was the prince of his kingdom and he was very much liked by all his people. to the muslims he was known as vlade dracula the "prince of impalement". they thought of him like that becuz whenever he would catch a muslim he would impale them, meaning he would take a 20ft. pole and sharpen one end and stick it through their body. he learned to do this in such a way where after he did it they would live for a few days and suffer. but the wierd part was he got a bowl and collected the blood from his victims and he didn't drink it, but he dipped his bread in it. the reason he was well liked by his people was becuz he found that some bankers and merchants had been cheating them on deals and stuff, so he invited all the bankers and merchants to his castle, fed them dinner....then impaled them all. his father was vlade dracul. dracula's name meant "son of the dragon"....i just thought this bit of info was interesting....hope you liked it.

Date: 10/29/2002 11:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 26452    FF666 is right, Vlad Tepes Dracula, His fathers last name was "Dracul" meaning "Devil" so Vlad added the A, Dracula, meaning "Son of the Devil" Also called "Vlad The Impaler" and was feared my his people. it was "Revenge on St George Street" that sympolized the Dragon if I remember right, I have the necklace. Transylvania is present day Romanian, not a part of it. And it wasn't just Muslems he impaled, he would impale anyone who stole, who lied to him (including his own wife) and his enemys. He used to have feasts, impaling thousands of people at a time and eating dinner as he watched them die....Sorry, hehe I am very intrested in the stories and legends of Vlad Dracula.
Date: 10/30/2002 3:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 59861    accually, tis vlad dracul. (like drakool) and there was only one of them. he was a well-known and feared war leader, and the emperor, if you will, of transylvania. and there still is a place called transylvania. its in romania, like you said. vlad the impaler, as he was often caled, wasnt really liked wither, but more so feared by his people, and they showed respect to such an extent that they would ever run off the streets the rare times he came by. and he got the name vlad the impaler b/c he took all of his p.o.w.'s, town drunks, homless, criminals, ect... and he found joy in impaling them on 20 and 40 foot steaks. then he would not let his servants clean up the mess (which was in the courtyard of his castle) or they would suffer the same fate of the impailed. so thats what really happened. oh, and he did drink the blood and he made his servants drink it as well. oODreamyOo
