i think there is a "national blonde day" it might not be "national" but i know i've heard of something like that.. i remember a website many years ago that listed all the holidays on it.. everything from breast cancer awarness days to no sock day |

I want a national CELEBATE day. Yes, that is my preference.... and I'm coming out of the closet. I would like to have people stop making fun of us, and make it a national holiday. Everyone could celebrate by abstaining and stop thinking they gotta have sex of some kind to be identified as something important.  |

I don't understand the need to "come out". This has always confused me. I don't wave my sexual preferences around like a flag. My lifestyle shows it and I don't have to say a word to anyone. My husband and children represent my herosexual lifestyle. I've known many gay people and have been close friends with many. In some cases (2 of my best friends)... I knew they were gay before they could ever acknowledge it themselves. It made no difference one way or the other. Neither of them has ever had a formal "coming out", thier life style speaks for them (both have had long time live-in partners). Why is there the huge need to FLAUNT that label?  |

I just don't understand why it is something that should be announced to the world. I have homosexual friends and they would never flaunt their lifestyles to others, no they don't try to hide them and they shouldn't but they also don't flaunt them like it makes them better than someone else because they can tell the world they are homosexual. Big deal, homosexual, heterosexual, who cares? Aren't we all human? How about a National Humans Day? or maybe even make it International Humans Day?.........JMHO  |

WOW! all the jokes ... I am really shocked by this .... let me break somthing down for some of you that seem to see no reason for this .... imagine this ... you love your partner ... you share a life you are happy and content , you both work you both pay taxes , you are both raising children together , yet neither one of you have a right to sign a piece of paper in the hopsital for major life saving surgery because you are technically not "next of kin" and imagine that no matter how hard you and your partner try you cant seem to live your life without judgement , you dont kiss in public you dont hold hands in public , because you wouldnt want to offend anyone ... now imagine if th tables were turned .... imagine if in this world heterosexuality was NOT the norm and this was you and your partner .... feeling like you have no rights ..... granted this country has holidays that are celebrated just because it sounds good or makes people money ie: valentines day ..... but is it that difficult for you people to respect slc punk enough to NOT make jokes???? ~~~ SCL PUNK HAPPY COMING OUT DAY !   |

I think for many gay people it isn't 'all right' to come out. Maybe in big cities where they have lots of support. But in small places it would be suicidal. These 'special' days were meant to make people more aware of the plight of minority groups. I do admit though that there has become an over-abundance of these 'special' days that now only serve to make people more cynical. Having said that I think you are brave to step out of the closet slcPunk. On a lighter note I'd like to come out and tell the world that I am a lesbian trapped in a mans body. Think about it!  |
