Date: 10/5/2002 11:22:00 PM From Authorid: 3835 I have a friend who is also diabetic, and she claims that when she gets that feeling of eating something that is not good, she eats the opposite to "show" her mind she is not giving in.. example, when she craves something sweet, she eats something sour, and when she craves something sour, she eats something sweet. This, she claims, helps her mind to react differently and in time, her cravings for those things she knows she should not endulge in, pass quicker or do not come at all, allowing her to chose what she puts into her body, not what the mind thinks it should have. Not certain that will help you, but thought I would give you a "taste" (Lol) of what she does (-: |

Date: 10/8/2002 6:43:00 AM From Authorid: 58416 Well Silverfire, I'm not diabetic but my grandmother is. She lives with me and I take care of her. Well one thing is you got to change your diet. Alot of ruits have alot of sugar in them and some people dont realize that. So my grandmother just eats grapefruits. She also buys sugar free candies. Russell Stover makes the best sugar free candies. I even eat them. Do you keep a chart on your sugars? Sometimes eating right doesnt work and you need medication to help. What kind of diabetes do you have? If you would like to ask more questions you can message me. I would be more than happy to help you out. Chickywoo |
