Just another legend from my book... it tells an important lesson I think...
Launeston-Dumfs and Gall (London) Laird of Slogarie, a house 2 miles north of the village, earned its nickname "The Earl of Hell" due to the constant swearing, drinking and gaming done by the owner. He has a God fearing wife who had 2 sons more wicked their father. The wife eventually pined away to death. One Saturday they sat drinking and playing cards with a storm outside. Midnight came and while drunk they planned to burn the dead womans bible. They threw it onto the fire and as they did, lightning struck the house, the father wouldnt leave his gold so he went back via the window to fetch it and a beam fell down and pinned him down on the window and he had a slow, painful death. The Sons went for help and one ran into a tree and broke his neck and the other fell into a big hole in the dark.
These sorts of legends still float around Europe. I think they tell important tales of "what goes around - comes around" You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 60162 ( Click here )
