do you have any family members that are about 5 years older then you?? in thier earlier 20's?? if you do ask them to teach you some.. it will make a world of difference.. parents who have been driving you around for 16 years are very paranoid when they give up the keys and power to thier child and them screaming and freaking out over every little thing doesn't help you learn any |

I cant drive yet, but my dad is teaching me how to drive a stick shift (On this ooold deserted dirt road) He just started teaching me a few days ago, but yesterday, I accidentally went past where we were supposed to turn, so my dad thought it would be a good idea to test out how well I back up and turn around (Backing up into a clear aera I hope that makes sense) Well, since its a stick shift, it was bring difficult, and I accidentally killed the engin...3 times lol. Then, he told me that a car was comming (Which is a rare thing on this road) so I'm thinking that its like right behind us, and *I* started freaking out (what he didnt tell me was the car was pretty far away) lol but after killing the engine about 4 more times, I finally got it started and got to the side of the road in time. |

Midnightly, I started out driving on the backroads which is way easier. But once you start getting into intersections and highways it can be a bit difficult since I'm not use to areas like that yet. |

LOL, while taking my drivers test, I actually hit a road sign. I just knew the officer would fail me then, but he actually passed me!! I was soooo shocked! And another time, on my way to my graduation ceremony, I got a run in my pantyhose so i was going down to the store and pulled out in front of someone and caused a wreck and almost didn't make it to my graduation ceremony!!! |

Ok, i was coming back from Utah to Texas, I had driven about 16 straight hours with my four kids and four grandkids, one of which got a broken leg while on vacation. I was about an hour from home, it was raining cats and dogs, the MOON was NOT out and I accidently got on the freeway going the wrong way. So I drove for about five miles this way and it really ticked me off that a car had the NERVE to drive in MY lane and flash there lights at me! My sons kept saying mom, your on the wrong side of the freeway. I said, no i'm not. they said MOM, look at the signs, they are BACKWARDS! well I finally did look at the signs and yes indeedy they were backwards. All I can say is it was about four in the morning and thank God there wasnt much traffic on the freeway, just that one car. But then shortly after I got on my own side a big diesel truck went roaring by. Praise God that he takes care of the sleepy, dingy , travling people. LOL |

Oh my, I dread the day my 13 year old is old enough to drive. You are lucky the cop didn't pull you over. But we all make mistakes, especially when we are just beginning and even after we are experienced..My worst mistakes are going the wrong way down a one way street FULL of on-coming traffic and getting stuck in a traffic circle (my step-dad kept saying "There's Big Ben...There's Big Ben...) and almost causing a wreck to get out of it..Don't worry, you'll eventually become more experienced and comfortable and it will soon seem like second nature to drive.. |

I was a delivery boy in San Francisco. There was a huge construction project going on at that time. I had made a delivery the week before to this person and I knew the way so I wasn't watching the street signs. I turned onto her street and the whole street was filled with cars coming towards me. I quickly turned into a driveway to let the traffic pass. They had made that street one way,do to the construction project, (not the way I was going) since I had been there the week before. That was rush hour, downtown San Francisco... LOL |
