9th anniversary of the battle of Mogadishu

can't believe no one (that I know of) has mentioned the fact that today marks the 9th anniversary of the Battle of Mogadishu (sometimes referred to as Black Hawk Down).

I'd just like to say that it scares me to know that there were dozens of Sep. 11th posts, but not one Oct. 3rd post. Has everyone forgotten the 17th American's killed in the dirty back-alleys of Mogadishu? It wasn't all that long ago when Rangers, CSAR soldiers, SFOD members, and two Navy SEALs were fighting through the dusty, humid streets of Mogadishu to save their comrades.

Not to be sappy, but here are the names of the fallen members of Task Force Ranger:

MSgt. Timothy Martin MSgt. Gary Gordon CW4 Raymond Frank CW4 Cliften Wolcott CW3 Donovon Briely SFC. Earl Fillmore SFC. Matthew Rierson SFC. Randall Shugart SSgt. Daniel Busch SSgt. Thomas Field SSgt. William Cleveland Sgt. James Joyce Sgt. Lorenzo Ruiz Spc. Dominick Pilla Cpl. James Cavaco Cpl. James Smith PFC. Richard Kowalewski
