Awesome poem Bef and it has a really good message too. No one should be ashamed of who they are, and everyone should just be themselves. Excellent job. |

Great Bethann! You are who and what you are! And I think you are a great person. You write like I only wish I could. And even though there is time between our age, you are a special friend, you always notice when I'm not here for awhile! Even though I'm older now, I still live live in those days and times gone by, everything comes harder sometimes, but we make it come just by never giving up or giving in or letting go. I love your Attitude! |

Thank you Brenda! Of course I'd notice. I always notice when a friend that I care about a lot is missing. I'm a strong believe that wisdom does NOT come with age. I may be young, but I've been through hell. It was time for me to take charge of things in my life, so I took |

Life is the greatest teacher, we sink or swim Bethann, not everyone thinks that way, but I do. It can be so hard being young and feeling all alone, sometimes the only thing that we have is sheer will, friends and a strong backbone. You have that! Plus lots more. A hard knock life isn't something I would wish on anyone but IT HAPPENS sometimes and we have to overcome it. I would never have made it without friends and later I had my girls depending on me. I will always appreciate the love of my friends. Nothing in life means more than knowing someone cares and someone needs you. Being a friend or having a friend is priceless, it comes from the heart and nothing has greater value or meaning. When I get a chance to log on and find a message from a friend, that always makes my day! |

You dedicated this poem to me, Bethany! I am flattered. This is a wild, defiant, and provocative poem. You've really nailed the importance of being authentic in life.... I agree wholeheartedly with Carl Jung who said, 'I'd rather be whole, than good.' As people, and as writers in particular, i think we must be prepared to sin boldy and take risks... in fact, we must be prepared to fail in our lives as much as we succeed in order to understand fully the dimensions of our Life. Success can only be seen through relativity.
Truly, the only person you have to answer to in this life is yourself.... but i don't think this means that there aren't some very important questions to still be asked, or that other people aren't important... actually in some very important ways, it is only by questioning our experience, (and this inevitably involves other people) that we can learn more about our own selves, and how interdependent everything is. And where best to set our creativity to work. This is exactly what you are doing here! Great post.... your friend, astral p |

"No worries...maybe just a few regrets." We are what we are, what we want to be and (at times) what we have to be, Bethann. Hmmmmmm..Which one of me wrote this???...lol.. Dynamic poetry, Bethann. Always a pleasure. Write on..... |
