"Through my veins, I see..." (Bethann)

Rubber snakes,
Chili breaks,
Nose tingles,
Brains participate.
That pain behind my eyes won’t go away!
Traveling along them,
As if maps to guide you through life,
My veins seem lonely,
And full of spite.
Westward,
Inward,
That funny feeling of autumn grieves in delight.
Knowing nothing,
And feeling omniscient,
Through my thin, delicate veins I see...
What lies before me.
Maybe it’ll pass,
And maybe it’ll stay,
But whatever happens,
I know I’ll be set for thereafter.
Through my veins,
Although still weak,
I continue to yearn,
For this such life to be in peace.

Bethann

I'm listening to Led Zeplin (<-----meant to spell it that way!). I know for a fact that whatever music I'm listening to at the time that I'm writing a poem, it influences it in some way. I'm so glad it's fall now. :)
