~~FRIENDS~~ .......For KAREN (Thunderhead)

A friend is a person with whom I may be sincere. Before him, I may think aloud.

I do then with my friends as I do with my books. I would have them where I can find them, but I seldom use them.

I will be there for you. I am only one. I cannot do everything, But still I can do something; And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do that something that I CAN do. ====Ralph W. Emerson.

A man once said to a lump of clay, "What art thou?" The reply was, "I am but a lump of clay, but I was placed beside a rose and I caught its fragrance."==Indian prologue.

Karen, dear friend and precious soul, Your flowers arrived today....all fresh, fragrant and whole. They were so delicate, whimsical and bright in hue, Just as though you had chosen and plucked each one As you walked the garden through. THANK YOU!!!!

Date: 9/24/2002 2:44:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24924    Thank you; EACH and everyone who have taken the time to reply here with such love and kindness. Lately, I have been doing some really in depth THINKING, and becoming ever more aware of the uniqueness of each individual in this vast sea of humanity; aware of our finiteness, our limited lifespan. Within Each one of us, there is the ability; the power, to make a difference, in at least one other life. Sometimes that difference can be just a simple QUIET listening love; a silence that goes beyond words. When I hear my friend, Karen's sweet voice on the phone; I can almost sense what she is going to say before she says it. She is like a bright star in a vast sky. I feel very fortunate; very proud; very thankful that our paths crossed, here on USM, and cherish each moment we chat on the phone. Thank you, Karen, my dear....for being all that your are. I will preserve those flowers and put them between the pages of my favorite books; then they will be sweet little discoveries over time when I take the books down to read again. HUGE Hugs, for ALL, Catherine
