Kaja, I know just how you feel. I"ve run into so many dead walls with my own music business. Remember Pink? She had to compromise her style...when she hit big, she got to change and do what she wanted. So don't give up. kaja, you may have to compromise what you do a little bit, but in the end if you have the will power and determination you will get where you want to be, and doing what you want to do. By the way, I can write music...so if you need any help... |

well . . . for what it's worth, a white female rapper is EXACTLY what the rapping producers are looking for, HOWEVER, they are going to be looking for someone to do it PERFECTLY (as to not look like that token white girl) .... this guy obviously has no idea what he is doing, especcially if he only charges 200 dollars . . . hon, my best advice . . . call some local d.j.'s and have them spin a few samples for you, no need to hit the studio yet, rapping over samples in shows will get ya a kick start . . . then, after you have a little bit of cred, get yourself a good d.j. that you have worked with, and a decent producer, and THEN get in the studio . . . if you need any other help, let me know (alot of my friends are involved with music, i am in a band, and well, i know a bit about the music industry itself *a bit, not alot, but enough to possibly help*) |

That really really stinks Kaja. And he is the racist one I did not know that any music had a race. If that were true rock and roll as we know it would have never been. Elvis The Beatles and Hollies to name a few of the early ones were based on Rythm and Blues in fact in England The Hollies were billed as a "blue eyed soul band" That is just so wrong to assume there is no market for white female rappers if anything I think that they are badly needed. What a creep. But Kaja keep in mind the Beatles were rejected by Decca just before they hit the big time after Brian Epstien took a chance on them Keep searching you will find someone to help you |

I can't believe that someone would even consider writing music for a song without ever hearing it first (if I understood your post correctly). There is no "magic formula" that you can use, and then apply it to ANY song...... If you are going to do a demo, then what you need to do is: 1) Find a reputable recording studio (NOT a record label). 2) You need to talk with the technician there about your songs, and ask him/her about recommending musicians who would best suit your needs. 3)Make a "scratch vocal" recording of your original songs and give them to the musicians you choose to play on your songs.(NOTE: if you are paying these musicians for their performance on your recording, they are not entitled to any copyrights. You will own the copyrights completely, once you file for them.)By doing this, you will save yourself a lot of studio time, which equals dollars, because they will already have an idea of how you intend your song to be played...... You do not need "written" music in order to get this thing done. What you need are GOOD studio musicians who can hear and feel YOUR interpretation of your song. I recommend that you record your rap to a drum loop (a rim shot with a kick drum) in order to set the basic rhythm or meter for your song and let the musicians do the rest. Then, as the song progresses, after you have your basic rhythm tracks with scratch vocals, you can listen to it and decide what other instruments of sounds you would like to add, like an udoo drum, or a scratch............ |
