SANTA ANA, Calif. -- A federal judge Tuesday denied former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith's request to dismiss a challenge to a court ruling that gave her $475 million from her late husband's estate. U.S. District Court Judge David O. Carter, who is handling the appeal brought by her late husband's son, said he would not dismiss the case. Smith's attorneys had argued the size of the judgment was justified because her late husband's son ignored court orders. However, Carter said such a sanction was extreme and should be only undertaken as a last resort. Smith, 33, lost a Texas court battle in March over the fortune left behind by her husband, oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. The two met in 1991 while she was working as a stripper in Houston. He died at age 90 in August 1995, 14 months after they wed. The Texas jury found that Marshall made no agreement to leave part of his estate to son J. Howard Marshall III or Smith. The jury ruled in favor of E. Pierce Marshall, another son of the tycoon. But a California bankruptcy court awarded Smith the money before the Texas case was resolved. E. Pierce Marshall appealed, questioning whether California had jurisdiction and whether Smith's claim was a bankruptcy issue. Carter vacated the California judgment last month and will hear arguments in August whether the judgment should stand. |

Everybody hates her because she's a fat, ugly, brainless fortune hunter who took advantage of a lonely, old man who probably didn't know the world he was in. She has also caused the man's family to lose a vast fortune. When I've seen her talking on TV, she didn't seem to half know the world she was in either but it wasn't due to old age. It's due to pure ignorance. Maybe all of those chemicals she bleaches her mop with have seeped into her head and caused her brain to turn to mush. Whatever the case, she's a real ditz. She's a very, very wealthy ditz and that's just sad.  |

Yes, I admire her ability to be the weight she wants. She actually is very pretty though, at any weight. The only thing that I wish she'd pay attention too... is her inability to show security with her self. She acts "airy" or like she's drugged up. I hope she gets this straightened out.  |

I think everyone needs to realize teh key word tehy are using "acts" In other words noone really knows her so they really cannot say she is dingy, airheaded, a crackhead etc. I think shje is very self confident and I do not think she is ugly at all....however I think she is not teh prettiest woman in the world either but I would not call her ugly. She was not poor when she married that guy and who is to say she did not love him...how do we know what she felt or still feels in her heart? Oh well I guesss everyone is entitled to their own opinion though...  |

I turned on her show just to see what it was like. She is so ditzy. She sounds like she is on drugs. Some of her pictures, when she is made up, she looks pretty. she was on one of the the talkshows last night.. she was very ditzy look and sounded like she was on something to every question it was an um uhh umm i'll get back to you on that and she is sistting there in this nice blue dress with her bra hanging out and the strap of the dress drooped off 1 shoulder.. ifelt a little sorry for her |
