nah... I just take them for what they are.. fiction... besides, it would get boring after a while if "Lance" or "Dirk" rode up all sweaty on a horse to bring us bee-infested flowers |

I am an avid Romance novel reader. I don't think they are rotting our brain or thinking men are something that can never be, but I do think that some women need to realize the book for what it is: Fiction. The books are for entertainment, it would be wonderful if men acted that way, wouldn't it? LOL. As for romance being dead? Nahh...I've met some very romantic men in my time that can put some men in those books to shame Romance isn't dead, just VErY VERY hard to find. Peace & LOve |

No, I accept men for who or what they are......no two could possibly be alike. I don't read romance books .....and if I did, fantasy is not a bad thing either.....(giggle) |

I don't know. I have never read a romance novel. I guess it just doesn't intrest me at all. But I guess if you read more non-fiction books about any subject quantum physics, knitting, how to break out of prison, you would come away with more information than you would if you read a romace novel. |

LOL@bee infested flowers. Yes I do think that women expect men to be like that. Look at soap operas, romance books like you mentioned. I have to tell myself that they are not like that. TV and books exagerate(sp?) Sapphire Dolphin |

lol, I HATE romance novels, if you have read one you have read them all. I like murder mysteries, real life storys, science fiction, ect ect. I read about five novels a week, **I have insomnia* sometimes as high as seven a week. *I'm also a speed reader* But romance novels, NOPE! |

I think the reason most women read them, is FOR the Fantasy factor, thinking HECK, maybe it COULD happen, LOL, or as an escape from everyday life. When I do have nothing else to read and I mean NOTHING else that I havent read in the house, then I may pick up one that was given to me, from the bookshelf in my bedroom and read it. I have to admit, it does make me give a little, *very little* credit once again to man. LOL LOL |

Of course, but that's all part of the illusion. In a romance novel you won't get the words, "As John picked his nose, Lucy looked longingly into his eyes, admiring his glistening muscles." - Coolade |

it's like watching romance movies.. or action movies.. we all know it will never happen to us but it's the joys of reading them(i had a friend once call them smutt..i responded.. but its good smutt*L*) it's healthy to have a fantasies as long as you look at them as just that... fantasies no real |
