* A bank robber in Milan, Italy, complained to the police arresting him that there were too many theives around. The 'unlucky' man had just finished robbing a bank - only to find his getaway car had been stolen!
* A music student from Rotterdam, Holland, was jailed for 3 months for asking women in the street to loan him their tights. He told them his car had broken down and he needed them to use as a fan belt. Police officers told the court the student didn't even have a car.
* A mountaineer was caught in a blizzard while climbing in the South American Andes. He tried to ring the emergency services but found he'd run out of credit. Panicking and alone, he was stunned to hear the phone ringing a few hours later. It was the phone company, asking if he'd like to renew his credit. He did - and the phone company called mountain rescue.
* Taxi drivers in Zimbabwe have introduced a new scheme to discourage fat passengers who, they say, damage the suspension in their cars. Now anyone they think is overweight is charged double fare.
* Ice cream seller Enrico Consonni was arrested for causing a traffic jam on a motorway into Venice, Italy. Enrico was living out his dream of being a US sheriff. Dressed in cowboy hat, jeans and sheriff badge, he was stopping traffic and checking cars.
