First of all, I would like to say thank you to the people who wished me well on my Mother's post that I had pneumonia. I have been sick for two weeks now, I am on antibiotics, but I am still fighting the pneumonia. I am weak as water, having ten minutes of chores around my home wears me out to the point that I can't move.
During this time with my bout of pneumonia, I'd like to tell you how many personal messages have been sent to me, asking about my condition and asking how I am, if I am getting better, etc. 0. Zero, that's right, I have gotten no messages, and no, this isn't a pity post, you will see the point in a moment.
Thankfully, I have had people in my life taking care of me. My fiance takes the time to take care of me out of his busy day and does the housework while I can't. My mom came over this week and cleaned my house and cooked lunch. She has provided emails and IM's, telephone calls, etc. to cheer me up.
I can only say I am shocked in a big way by USM's seeming unconcern when one of their members was sick. I know I haven't been on here in a while, and only drop in occasionally, does that mean we drop our friends when we don't talk for a while? We just grow distant and uncaring of their condition? I have been online viewing posts and looking around here, and all I can say is one thing...
I don't want sympathy, I have people that care about me in my life that are doing a darn fine job of that. What I mainly asked for was prayers because as sick as I am right now, I need the prayers being sent up to Heaven for me. All of you that are here, and I know there are many of you... Don't forget your friends or desert them when they need a prayer or two, because one day, it may be YOU in need of that prayer from the same person you didn't care to send one up for.
The main message in this post is to TAKE THE TIME TO BE A FRIEND. Take the moment out of your 24 hours a day to send up a prayer or reply to a post for someone who may NEED you. Take the time to be compassionate. Don't give lip service to how much you CARE ABOUT USM, and how much you LOVE USM, because USM is a website. Rather, CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT COME HERE. Tell them you love them, too. Yeah, I love USM, but it is a website, and I recognize that. I also recognize that the people that come here... They need love and care, too. So when you wish to say you love USM, remember who makes up the whole of USM. The people...
