As I drive North on I-29,
I notice that traffic is light.
Then my eyes are caught in wonderous awe,
at the last soft glimpse of the night.
Soft shades of lavender mixed,
with soft, white, whisping pillows.
Cover the sky with sweet adornment,
Rolling in long, thin, whisping billows.
Then, I see it, strongly waving
far off, seemingly o' so plain.
The vibrant shades of red, white and blue,
at the head of the construction crane.
"We will not forget!"
Reads the hand-painted sign.
My heart swells with pride,
The love I feel!
Oh this awesome land of mine!
