Working as a computer instructor for an adult-education program at a community college, I am keenly aware of the gap in computer knowledge between my younger and older students.

My observations were confirmed the day a new student walked into our library area and glanced at the encyclopedia volumes stacked on a bookshelf.

"What are all these books?" he asked.

Somewhat surprised, I replied that they were encyclopedias.

"Really?" he said. "Someone printed out the whole thing?!"

Our country will never be the same, As towers meet the ground, But this country's fiber, Is made as solid as it's sound.

The metal may crack and break, And crumble and become dust, But the great American spirit, Is based on "IN GOD WE TRUST"

The blood these people shed, Was shed for you and me, The fight we have ahead of us, Is fought so we can stay free.

In America we have the right, To freedoms not allowed in other lands. So as we grieve the lives lost, We should all share each others hands.

Take this time to praise our God, And pray for the families of the lost, Don't forget this in your hearts, Even after the smoke is tossed.

=====================================

Policeman's Prayer Oh almighty God, Whose great power and eternal Wisdom embraces the universe, Watch over all Policemen and Law Enforcement Officers.

Protect them from harm In the performance of their duty To stop crime, robberies, Riots and violence.

We pray, help them keep our streets And homes safe day and night. We recommend them to your loving care Because their duty is dangerous.

Grant them your unending strength and Courage in their daily assignments. Dear God protect these brave Men and Women,

Grant them your almighty protection, Unite them safely with their Families after duty has ended.

The Final Inspection The officer stood and faced his God. Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now, Officer, how shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To church have you been true?" The officer squared his shoulder and said, " No, Lord, I guess I ain’t, because all of us who carry badges can’t always be a saint. I’ve had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I’ve been violent because the streets are tough. But I never took a penny that wasn’t mine to keep. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I’ve wept an unmanly tear. I know I don’t deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear. If you’ve a place for me here, Lord, it needn’t be so grand. I never expected or had too much, but if you don’t… I’ll understand! There was silence all around the throne where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his GOD "Step forward now, Officer. You’ve borne your burdens well Come walk a beat on heaven’s streets, You’ve done your time in hell" Amen

This guy was lonely and so he decided life would be more fun if he had a pet. He went to the pet store and told the owner that he wanted to buy an unusual pet. After some discussion, he finally bought a centipede, which came in a little white box to use for his house. He took the box back home, found a good location for the box, and decided he would start off by taking his new pet to the bar to have a drink. So he asked the centipede in the box, "Would you like to go to Frank's with me and have a beer?" But there was no answer from his new pet. This bothered him a bit, but he waited a few minutes and then asked him again, "How about going to the bar and having a drink with me?" But again, there was no answer from his new friend and pet. So he waited a few minutes more, thinking about the situation. He decided to ask him one more time, this time putting his face up against the centipede's house and shouting, "Hey, in there! Would you like to go to Frank's place and have a drink with me?"

WAIT! YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS!

A little voice came out of the box "I heard you the first time! I'm putting on my shoes."
