In the dark
there's no one around
trying to run
but I keep hitting the ground
What's that noise
that I keep hearing
so deep & mournful
I think the end is nearing
The sound of something walking
sends chills up my spine
is there really something here
or am I wasting my time?
The noises continue
and my heart is racing fast
I try to find an end to this
as I think of injured body casts
As I touch my face to wipe a tear
and reassure myself
that there is nothing to worry about
